Samantha Gomez (Class of 2010), Cardinal Gibbons High School
Sarah Motta (Class of 2011), Cardinal Gibbons High School
Kristie Neubauer (Class of 2009), Cardinal Gibbons High School
Lindsay Savin (Class of 2009), University School
The Ambassador Award is given annually to the high school volunteers
who make an extraordinary contribution of their time; and model the
highest level of behavior by upholding the YMCA core values of
respect, responsibility, honesty, caring, faith and fun, while
teaching youth within the YMCA programs and community.
All of these young
ladies volunteered an extraordinary amount of time this past fall to
become certified US Lacrosse umpires so that the YMCA could overcome
a shortage of women’s lacrosse umpires. These young ladies can be
found working lacrosse games throughout South Florida. In addition
to obtaining her lacrosse umpire certification, one of our
recipients gave up a good part of her summer to become a USSF soccer
referee so as to officiate games for the YMCA travel soccer club,
Fort Lauderdale Select. We have also come to count on several of
our recipients to faithfully give their time as youth coaches during
the weekly training sessions.
Congratulations to
all our young ladies on this recognition.
