Typical training session
  • Technical Skill Development will encompass the majority of the training.  Once a player is proficient with their technical skills, they must maintain them for life; so expect every session to have a technical component.  Players will learn to perfect a certain skill set, the art of passing and receiving, scooping, cradling and shooting.
  • Scrimmages will be a part of basic training.
  • Players accelerate their skills and tactical awareness playing small-sided games, the hallmark of our youth leagues.
  • Players are grouped by present skill level, age and  physical abilities; and reevaluated every week by the trainers and coaches.  You will notice that throughout the course of a league training sessions the coaches are speaking with each other.
Training and coaching philosophy

Develop the players - the winning will come.

Easier said then done unless all your staff is on board before the start. This is an absolute requirement.

Our leagues were designed from the ground up as a grass roots community program, providing high quality training and development of youth and young adult athletes so they can compete in the game of lacrosse.  The youth league takes an Academy approach focusing on technical skill development applied in a small-sided format, much like that found in youth travel soccer.  The Fall Ball High School Division plays full-sided.  Participants registered in the High School Division have the additional option of training on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Youth lacrosse fields depending on their coaches preference.

Very important ...many parents do not sign up their children for some activities because of scheduling conflicts with other activities.  While parents would like their child to participate, they believe it is rude to the coach when they do not show up to all or most of the practices and/or games.  That is NOT how we want you to look at lacrosse.  We do not care how often your child attends practice or games, all we want to do is teach the game to them.  We will gladly work with whatever time you give us; 10, 25, 50%... whatever.
